Now, what you're looking for determines what you'll see.
Ezekiel took a look one day, and said, "He was a Wheel in the middle of a wheel, turning in the air." That's what God looked like to Ezekiel.
John was the greatest of all prophets. Jesus said he was "greater than any man born." Did you ever think why that was? The prophets all spoke of Jesus. "The Word of the Lord comes to the prophet," It came to them in visions. But when the Word came to John, It was flesh. He introduced Jesus. And Jesus is the Word. He always was the Word. And the Fullness of God was "made flesh and dwelt among us." And if the Word is made flesh, It must come to a prophet. It came to John in the water. Wherever It is, the Word must come to a prophet. And John was the prophet of that day.
When the Word came to John, He walked out in the water and said, "I want to be baptized."
And John said, "I have need to be baptized of You, why comest Thou unto me?"
Did you ever think why John said that? Why would John say that to Jesus? Why?
And Jesus said, "Suffer it to be so, for thus it is becoming to us to fulfill all righteousness."
The Word had come to the prophet, now it was necessary that all righteousness be fulfilled. John being a prophet knew the Word: the sacrifice must be washed before it's presented. That's why John baptized Jesus.
How did John know Jesus was Messiah? John saw the shekinah in the Form of a dove, having been told by the Spirit, "Upon Whom you see the Shekinah descending in the Form of a dove, and remaining, he's the One that'll baptize with the Holy Ghost and Fire."
Another man looked, by the name of Noah. He saw the just judgment of God about to be poured upon a wicked, Word-denying generation. Noah was a prophet, God gave him a vision, and instructed him how to build the ark.
Before judgment, God always sends His Word, and a way of escape
Noah, in constructing the Word of God, was bearing record that his vision was true, and he believed. Scoffers made fun of him, but Noah had looked ahead and saw the justice of God required judgment upon the people, and constructed an ark to save his own household. He made preparations for escape.
Noah looked, and saw what was coming.
The Holy Ghost, today, forerunning the Coming of Jesus Christ, is constructing the Word of God into the Body of Jesus Christ. We're baptized into It; not by a creed, not by a denomination, or by a handshake. But, "by One Spirit we're baptized into the Body of Christ," a construction that'll stand the judgments, because It's already been judged. "When I see the Blood, I'll pass over you."
We're making preparation for escape in this day
Moses looked one day, and saw a Pillar of Fire. It attracted his attention. He'd lived by all of his theological training, and his mother's understanding of God's Word. How he should deliver the children of Israel. But when he tried his way, although his mother had thoroughly instructed him what to do, and what God had raised him for, he failed. All this knowledge, as good as it was, was fundamental - the Word without the Spirit.
It's not the mechanics that run the car. It's the dynamics. The Spark! And mechanics don't run the church; it's the dynamics - the Holy Ghost gets into His Word. It's not a seminary, teaching Greek interpretations and theology but the dynamics of the Holy Ghost in there, to set It afire; to make it live, and bring to pass exactly what God's Word promised for this hour. It takes mechanics and dynamics, the Word and the Spirit together, to bring Life.
We must look to God to fulfill His promises for this hour, because He is the Word. The only way you can look to Him, is look to the Word. He is the Word promised for this day, and it must be fulfilled in this day. Noah's Word can't be fulfilled in this day; It was only a TYPE. This is the day God's promised these things we're now seeing. The world laughs at this great power of the Holy Spirit that can change a sinner's heart; that can take a lukewarm church member, and give him a testimony that'll set the church afire. It's the dynamics that got into the Word.
I've found two classes of people. One of them is the fundamental. Positionally, he knows where he is in Christ, because he knows the Word, but he doesn't have faith in what he's doing. He hasn't got the Holy Spirit. Some of the others have received the Holy Ghost, but don't know who they are. The first is like a man who has money in the bank and can't write a cheque; the second can write a cheque, but has no money in the bank. If we could get the two together, get the Pentecostal to realize who he is, and come back to the real, full Word of God, with that baptism of the Holy Ghost, it'd set the world afire.
Moses had the mechanics. But when he heard a Voice from the Pillar of Fire in a burning bush, saying, "I AM that I AM, I've heard the groans of My people, and I remember My promise. I've come to deliver them, and I'm sending you to do it." What a different man he was. He had the mechanics, now he has the dynamics. "Surely, I will be with you." That's what happened when Moses looked.
Later in the journey, when Israel had sinned, they looked and saw a brass serpent. It was a type of the judgment God would put upon Jesus Christ, to die for all of us guilty, unworthy sinners.
The disciples in trouble on the sea, looked to Jesus one time, and what did they see? They saw help coming through Him.
When her only brother, Lazarus, was dead, Martha looked to Him and saw resurrection and life. That's what she saw in Him. It seemed as if He'd turned her down. The boy had been dead and buried for four days, he was already stinking.
Martha had read the Scripture. She believed Him to be the Son of God, Emmanuel, God made manifest. She knew He was God's representative. She knew, if Elijah being just a portion of the Word for his hour, could raise a dead baby; Christ being the fulness of the Word could surely raise up her brother. When she looked to Him in her bereavement, she found resurrection and life. She didn't look to criticize, or ask him why He hadn't come.
We should never question the Word of God. Eve got the whole human race into trouble, when she questioned whether God would keep all of His Word, or not. It's time we believed every Word God wrote. Every bit of It's the Truth. "Man shall live by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
Mary found resurrection and life. So did Jairus, the priest, a secret believer, when he looked upon Jesus.
Hungry people looked to Him, one day, and found sustaining bread; showing in type that the spiritually hungry can find the Bread of Life today. Not find a creed, a founder, or a reformer. We find Life when we find Christ, the Bread of Life.
The dying thief looked to Him in his hour of distress, and found His pardon. The Roman government wouldn't pardon him. No one else would pardon him. But he looked to Jesus, in his distress, and he found Somebody Who could pardon him.
My brother or sister, if you're hanging in condemnation as he was, knowing, if you'd die today as a lukewarm church member; whatever you might be, you know where you're going. Look to Him, today, the One Who can set you free. If you only have a church membership and don't know what it means to have the resurrected Christ live in you, look to Him. He is God and He alone. You'll find pardon, like this poor, sin-sick thief hanging on the Cross.
When the sick looked to Him. They found a healer. They found in Him what was represented in the brass serpent. If that was the type, He was the antetype. The blind looked and could see. "He's the same yesterday, today, and forever", Hebrews 13:8. The sick tonight can still look to Him and find a healer.
Peter was a fisherman. His brother Andrew had been attending John the Baptist's revival. They'd been discussing what Messiah would be. His father had told him, "There'll be many fanatics raise up - just before Messiah, but you'll know Him. He'll be a prophet.
Finally, Andrew persuaded Peter to listen to Him. Jesus was going to have a meeting down there on the coast. What did Peter see when He looked on Him? Jesus said, "Your name is Simon, and you're the son of Jonas." That settled it forever. Peter knew the Word of God had been fulfilled.
Nathanael, a real believer in the Old Testament, was looking for the Coming of Messiah. His friend Philip brought him into the Presence of Jesus, standing upon a stump or whatever it might have been, praying for the sick. When Nathanael walked into the prayer line, a voice said to him, "Behold an Israelite, in whom there is no guile."
He said, "Rabbi, when did You ever know me?"
"Before Philip called you, when you were under the tree, I saw you."
Nathanael saw the Word Moses promised, made flesh.
What did Nathanael confess he saw? He said? "You're the Christ, the King of Israel. You're the Son of God." That's what he saw when he saw the true Word of God for that day. Four hundred years without a prophet, and this Jesus knew the thoughts of his heart, and what he'd done. Nathanael knew this could be nothing less than Messiah. It was promised, and everybody knew the time was at hand.
We know the same thing today, we know Jesus promised these things. He said, "As it was in the days of Lot, so shall it be in the Coming of the Son of man." We see these things happening.
We see God has sent us a prophet, today, revealing Jesus Christ by the same sign which vindicated Him to be Messiah in the days of His flesh. As it was in the days of Lot, God has discerned the thoughts and intents of people's hearts, told them all about themselves.
What do you see when you look? Do you think of mythology, or some kind of telepathy? The Pharisees looked upon Him and said, "This man has a devil." Others looking at the same Person, saw the Son of God, a promised vindicated Word. What do you see today when you see the power of the Holy Ghost fulfilling Jesus' promise for this day in the ministry of the late William Branham. If you see the Word of God vindicated, it's the Holy Spirit of God.
The last Sign Jesus promised we Gentiles before the end of our Age was that God would veil Himself behind the flesh of another man, a sinner saved by grace, discerning the thoughts of people's hearts, healing the sick and crippled, restoring sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, and raising the dead. This was fulfilled in our day in the ministry of William Branham.
Oh, we can discern Communism, we can discern everything else, but can we discern the portion of Word allotted by God for this day? I wonder if we can see the Sign God told us would be here, on earth in this day?
Many had turned Him down. The Pharisees and Sadducees called Him a "devil." They said, "He's a fortune-teller, a renegade."
He came to the city of Sychar in Samaria one day, and a woman came to draw water. She heard a Voice say, "Bring Me a drink, woman."
She couldn't understand it because it wasn't customary for Jews to ask Samaritans such."
He said, "But, woman, if you knew who you were talking to!"
Now remember, there was a little Light in her heart, predestinated from the foundation of the world. She was watching for It. She was sick and tired of theology. She was watching for something else, because she knew there was a coming Messiah.
And He said, "Go get your husband and come here."
She said, "I have none."
He said, "You've told the truth. You've had five."
Quickly, that little Light sprung to Life. What did she see? She saw the Sign of the Messiah, the promised Word made manifest. She said, "Sir, I perceive that You're a Prophet. We haven't had one for hundreds of years. We know the promised Messiah is coming, and when He comes, He'll do this." What did she see? She saw the Sign that was promised for that day, made manifest.
The Holy Ghost is promised for THIS day in the power of His resurrection. "These signs shall follow them that believe." Jesus promised, "The things that I do shall you do also."
When you go to church do you look for a fine organ, a well-dressed minister, a robed choir, a bunch of painted women? A social life in the church? What you look for is about what you'll see. When you see the Holy Ghost come in and make the Word manifest amongst an old-fashioned bunch of people, it's foreign to you. No wonder it's hard for you to believe.
It was hard for Joseph to think of Mary being pregnant. "How could she be that, a holy little woman like that, and claim Gabriel had visited her?" But it was so unusual. It never happened before.
God dwells in what's unusual to the carnal mind. But to those who believe He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, all things are possible. Every Word that He promised will be fulfilled. It's the unusual things that make Him God. He makes everything unusual to the people.
The woman looked on Him and saw the Messianic SIGN: God manifested in flesh. Many others looked and didn't see a thing.
The unbelievers in Noah's day saw a fanatic, blundering away on what he called a boat. That's all they saw but it was constructed from a vision of Almighty God. The very thing he was pounding on, constructing by his Message, bore record that he was righteous and was looking forward. He lived what he preached.
That's what we ought to do now. No man has a right to preach until he's filled with the Holy Ghost. Theologians and mathematicians, can explain It all away from you. But if a man's ever been on the back-side of the desert, and met God like Moses did, no man can take It away from him. He knows! He was there. That's why Jesus commanded His disciples, "Don't preach until you go up to the city of Jerusalem and receive Power from on High, then you shall be witnesses of Me." That's what they saw.
The unbelievers of Noah's day could see nothing. They saw the ark, ignored the Word of God, and brought judgment upon themselves.
And if God doesn't burn up Sydney with fire from heaven, He'll have to raise up Sodom and Gomorrah and apologize to them. People see the sin, but they fail to recognize it is a Sign from God, and will perish in the judgment.
God is just. His Word has a just recompense, and He'll certainly judge the world for its actions against His Word today. No matter how many programs and gatherings we have, that isn't it. It's His Word!
Today, the churches are about as dedicated as they were when Jesus came to earth. Everything is smothered by tradition and religion, and it's all wrong!
It was when the little baldheaded preacher, Amos appeared. His two little eyes narrowed when he came up the hill and looked down into Samaria. It was a great tourist place like Australia; people came from all over the world to look at this great city. How beautiful it was. Everything was going on, night clubs, mardi gras, opera house, a real place of gaiety, "man, was it cool." When this farmer boy, struck by the Holy Spirit, came down through there, he had nobody to go ahead and make arrangements for his meetings, he had no signs up, no denomination affiliated with him - nobody to back him up. But as he looked down upon the city, he saw something none of the rest of them saw. They saw the gaiety and show of the city. He saw God's pending judgment, and he prophesied against it. They called him "crazy." But eleven years later, it happened just exactly the way he foretold.
How can men who look upon the church the way it's going today, and the people the way they're going, predict future blessings? God's Bible predicts JUDGMENT. A just God requires judgment for ignoring His Word. Through all ages, He never changes His plan. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. His ways are the same. His Word is the same. He's full of mercy when someone's ready to repent, but judgment will follow those who don't.
Pharaoh saw a fanatic so-called prophet with claims of deliverance - that's all he saw. But the Israelites saw the hand of God upon Moses.
The rich young ruler looked and saw - but his organization was greater than his faith. His next look was out of hell. Judgment had come upon him. So will it be with many people today.
The Roman soldier looked, when they crucified Jesus. He looked to see what He'd done, but it was too late then. He could only look and see where he could've been saved. But it was too late then. He'd crucified the Prince of Life.
Friends, Australia is going to do that, too. They're going to look someday, and say, "Truly that was the Son of God," but it'll be too late. They'll have laughed and made fun for the last time.
And so many times, today, people turn away Jesus Christ from their hearts, when they see Him clearly vindicating Who He IS, right in the midst of us. Discerning the thoughts and intents of the heart, 'As it was in the days of Lot'.
Pilate took a look, one day, and was convinced, but politics were too strong. Jesus was not politically correct. Pilate couldn't stand up for the unpopular Truth.
Luther took a look; he saw justification. He went with it. Then, they organized.
Wesley came along. He saw sanctification when he looked at Christ. That the church should be sanctified. The Methodists organized on that.
The Pentecostals came along and saw the restoration of the gifts. They did exactly like the Catholics, and organized it.
At the end of the Laodicean or Pentecostal Age, God sent a prophet to restore the apostolic faith, finish the mystery of God and call His people out from organized religions. Now when we take a look, we can see the Alpha and Omega. We can see the Beginning and the End. I see Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever, the Pardoner of my sin. I see Someone Who took my place.
