The Greek word LOGOS means "thought in speech," or "concept." This depth of meaning is lost in the English translation, "Word." God is called the Logos or Word because a word is a thought expressed. God's thoughts, being eternal and real must come to pass in their designated season and time. His thoughts are the attributes of Himself, what He is—His nature and character. The Bible is the story of God unfolding Himself from the eternal Spirit alone with His thoughts, through the spoken Word, to the manifestation of what He is in the Form of His Family. By the manifestation of Himself, the Word, or Logos, He displays His glory and deserves worship in those who love His appearing.
The following Scriptures give us an appreciation of the nature and purpose of God as He has progressively revealed Himself to man, and since the virgin birth and Pentecost, in His Family, Jesus Christ being the first adopted (placed) Son.
And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto Him out of the midst of the bush, and said, "Moses, Moses." And he said, "Here am I." And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and homey... (Exodus 3:2-4,8.)
Behold, I send an angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have promised. Beware of Him, and obey His voice, provoke Him not; for He will not pardon your transgressions: for My Name is in Him (Exodus 23:20-21.)
For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God (Deuteronomy 4:24.) God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of praise. And His brightness was as the light (Habakkuk 3:3-4.) Who coverest Thyself with Light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain (Psalms 104:2.)
Bless the Lord, O my soul, O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honor and majesty. He revealeth the deep and secret things: He knoweth what is in the darkness, and the Light dwelleth in Him (Daniel 2:22.)
I the Lord have called these in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a Light of the Gentiles (Isaiah 42:6.) For our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29.)
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He hath declared him (John 1:18.)
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; these things saith the amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God (Revelation 3:14.) Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him. And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist (Colossians, 1:15-17.) Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His Person (Hebrews 1:3.)
And now, O Father, glorify Thou Me with Thine Own self with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was. I have manifested Thy Name unto the men which Thou gavest Me out of the world (John 17:5-6.)
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, Who created all things by Jesus Christ (Ephesians 3:9.) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life and the life was the Light of men (John 1:1-4.) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the Light of the world: He that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the Light of life (John 8:12.)
The following quotations are excerpts from sermons by Brother William Branham, the prophet of Malachi 4:5-6 and Revelation 10:7, expound the Logos in colloquial speech.
Well, now, if you'll notice close now, in Genesis 1:26, let's get the first part first. God said, "Let us make man in our own image." Of, course, we realize He's talking to someone, He was speaking to another being. "Let us make man in our own image after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the cattles of the field."
If you notice, in creation, the first thing that was created, of course, was Light. You come on down through the creation, the last thing was created was what? A man. And woman was made after man. All right, the first ... Last thing that was created, of God's creation, is mankind.
But when God made His first man, if you noticed, He made Him in the likeness of Himself, He was made in the image of God. And what is God? Now, if we can find out what God is we can find what kind of a man He made.
Now in St John, the fourth chapter...23rd and 24th verse. All right. Ye worship... (that's it)... Ye worship and you know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews, (and that's right, see)... But the hour cometh, and now is, that the true worshippers (Jew or Gentile) shall worship the Father in the spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Now, the next verse is where I want: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Now, if God created man in His Own image and in His Own likeness, what kind of a man did He create? A spirit man. Now, if you'll notice, after He had made all the creation, and created a spirit man, the close reading of this now (to the one that asked the question) will find this, that God give dominion of the cattle and the fishes and everything to the man. But, in His making up there, He made man in His Own image to lead the cattle, lead the beasts of the field, just like the Holy Spirit leads the believer today. See?
He was, in other words, Adam, the first man in the lower creations of God. The first creation was God Himself; then out of God came the Logos, which was the Son of God; then out of the Logos, which was the Word ("In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.") Out of the Logos came forth the Man.
Oh, I got a beautiful picture in my mind now, if you can take a little trip with me. I believe I've talked on it before, but to get this to the place where you'll be sure to see it. Now, let's take a little trip and go back for a little while. Now, don't think about how hot it is, let's get our minds right on what we're going to talk about and think now.
Let's go back a hundred million years before there ever was a star, moon, or anything in the world. Now, there was a time when there wasn't nothing here, it was just all forever and Eternity. And all of ever and Eternity was God, He was there in the beginning.
Now, let's go out here on the edge of this banister and look over and see these things happen.
Now, "No man has seen the Father at anytime." No man can see God in the bodily form, because God is not in body form, God is a Spirit. See? All right. "No man has seen the Father, but the only begotten of the Father hath declared Him," 1st... John, see.
Now, but notice now, there's nothing, there's just space. There's no Light, there's no dark, there's no nothing, it's just seems nothing. But in there is a great supernatural Being, Jehovah God, Who covered all space of all places at all times. He was from everlasting from everlasting, He is the beginning of creation. That's God. Can't see nothing, can't hear nothing, not a move of an atom in the air, not nothing, not no air, no nothing, but yet God was there. That was God. (Now let's watch for a few minutes, and after a while...) No man has seen That, now, That's the Father. That's God, the Father.
Now notice. Then after while I begin to see a little sacred Light begin to form, like a little halo or something, you could only see it by spiritual eyes.
But look now, while we're looking, the whole church now. We're standing on a great big banister, watching what God's doing. And we'll get right down to this question here and you'll see how He brings it in.
Now, no one has seen God. And now, the next thing we begin to see, by eyes of supernatural looking, we see a little white Light forming out there. What is that? That was called, by Bible readers, "Logos," or "the anointed," or "the anointing," or the ... part of God begin to develop into something so human beings could have some type of an idea what It was. Was a little, low ... or little Light, moving. He... That was the Word of God.
Now, God gave Himself birth to this Son which was before there was even an atom in the... or air to make an atom. That was... See, Jesus said, "Glorify Me, Father, with the glory that We had before the foundation of the world." See, way back in yonder.
Now, in St. John 1, He said, "In the beginning was the Word." And the first... "And the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." God unfolding Himself, down to a human being. Now watch how He did it (Questions & Answers on Genesis - 53-0729.)
Then, now we get in Genesis 1, we get to the Bible now, and out of our picture at the Bible. Genesis 1, "The world was without form, and void; and water was upon the face of the deep." Is that right? "And the Spirit of God moved upon the water." Now, He separated the water, brought up the hills and the lands and so forth; dried it off. Vegetation and everything, He made it. And He made the moon. And set its boundaries, of the sea, so it could not pass.
He got all those things together, made...?... Made all the other things, all the animal life, the birds, the bees, the monkeys, and whatever it was, put all of it here on earth. And then He asked this question now. "Let us" (Who? Father and Son) "make man in Our Own image."
Now, if a man was made something like that little sacred Light yonder, or something like that, It could not be seen (which is a spiritual Being). He manifested or unfolded Himself a little more, to make a trinity of Himself by Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And here was God, unfolded Himself now, down into "let us make man," which was His son, an offspring from Him, "man in Our Own image," he was a supernatural being. "And let him have dominion over the cattles of the field, and so forth."
Now, the man led the... cattle and everything, just like the Holy Spirit leads a real, true believer today. The Voice of God out there... The voice of man, rather, could speak and say... call the cattle this way, call the sheep over in this pasture, call the fishes to this water. See, he had dominion, everything obeyed him (Questions & Answers on Genesis - 53-0729.)
Now when He (the Logos) went out of God, which was God coming from this one big fountain into a body in the form of a man; and it made the Logos, which we call theophany.
Now, if you take the theophany when you are looking at that, that's a man. Now, that's where we were in the beginning. Now, you do not understand it now, but you was back there in the beginning that way. When God made man in His image, He made him a theophany. And He only placed him in flesh ... When God made man in His image, in His likeness, they were ... In Genesis 2, there were ... or Genesis 1:28, I believe it is, "There was no man yet to till the soil," and God had done made male and female. That's right, "No man to till the soil."
Then God brought man a little lower down and put him in animal life, that's this body, just like the animals so that he could till the soil, could touch. That theophany doesn't touch, it doesn't see, taste, smell, hear; these senses that we have. So God put man down there in order to touch and to feel.
And as he walked through the Garden of Eden, first as a theophany, (like the Holy Spirit is in here now walking in here), it led the animal life. It controlled everything, but it couldn't till the soil, see. So God put him in flesh so that he could till the soil. Give him his five senses, to till the soil and fix up the vineyards and so forth, and then the man still looked lonesome. Oh, this is a beautiful picture.
Look, for when he was first made, he was made two people together. He was made both male and female, the man was. The Bible said he was. God made man both male and female, "created He him." Notice now, when man was separated from the theophany and put in flesh, he wasn't just altogether there; part of his being was still a theophany, so it didn't look right. That was It. And that was the Theophany which was the Son of God. That Son, that Logos, became flesh because we were put in flesh. And the Theophany, the Logos, became flesh here among us, and It was nothing else but the dwelling place, for that entire Fountain dwelt in Him (Questions & Answers on Hebrews - 57-1006.)
See, there cannot be an Eternal son, because a son had to have a beginning. And so Jesus had a beginning, God had no beginning. See? But the Son that was with the Father in the beginning was the Logos that went out of God. And it was the theophany of God that went out. Moses... saw the back parts, said, "It looked like a man." (Questions & Answers on Hebrews - 57-1006).
Notice His title, King of righteousness. Now, Hebrews 7:2: King of righteousness and King of peace. He's two Kings. Now watch! Hebrews 7:2, King of righteousness, also the King of peace. He's two Kings there. Now, since He has come in the flesh and received His body up, in Revelation 21:16 He's called the King of Kings. He's all three of them together. See? King God, King Theophany, King Jesus; He's the King of Kings. It's all met, just like soul, body, and spirit. All comes to make one.
Also He is the Father which was the first, Son, and Holy Ghost, the Spirit. King of righteousness, the Spirit attribute; theophany, King of peace, theophany; and in flesh He was King of Kings - same Person.
When the theophany ... Moses seen Him, Exodus 33:2, He was a theophany. Moses wanted to see God. He'd heard His voice, heard Him talk to him, seen Him in a bush there with a big Pillar of Fire. And he said, "Who are You, I want to know Who You are?" Moses said, "If You'll let me see You... I'd like to see Your face."
He said, "No man can see My face." He said, "I'll put My hand over your eyes, and I'll pass by. And you can see My back, but not My face." See? And when He did, it was the back of a Man; it was theophany. Then the Word that come to Moses, I AM; that was the Word. The Word came to Moses in the form of a Pillar of Fire in a burning bush, the I AM (Who Is This Melchisedec - 65-0221.2E.)
In the beginning was the Same. He was that great Spirit Fountain where all the trueness, all the love, all the peace, everything that was pure was in this Fountain. It begin to form a body, a theophany, the kind of body that we go to. Not a glorified body, but an angelic body like; has shape, form. (Hebrews - 57-0901.2E.)
Could you think, church, that you're looking with your own eyes... the Living Word of God made manifest (the promise of the hour, in the last days), looking with your own eyes at the Living Word being interpreted in natural form, God among us! (I Have Heard But Now I See 65-1127E.)
Who was the I Am?—that burning Light that was in the bush that talked to Moses? He is the same Jesus tonight. That same Angel is here. A witness before Sodom and Gomorrah's destruction—goes to destruction (Discerning the Body of The Lord - 59-0812.)
But as Israel was bound by their kings, that they could not follow the real King; and the real King, when He came, they didn't recognize Him. So is it today, O Lord, the King of Glory has appeared in the form of the Holy Ghost, and, Lord, they don't know it. They don't recognize it (Deceived Church by the World - 59-0628M).
How many knows that Jesus today, is a Pillar of Fire that followed the children of Israel? "I came from God, and I go to God." Is that what He said? And when Paul met Him on the road down to Damascus. What was He? The great Light, the Pillar of Fire. He is the same One today and the Holy Spirit of God. The Body of Jesus sits at the right hand of God on His Throne in Heaven, but His Spirit is here on earth completing and finishing His work. And that same Spirit that lived in the Body of Jesus Christ was the same Spirit was in that Angel that come to Sodom and Gomorrah. Do you believe that? Elijah, the one of the greatest prophets of the age only done four things supernatural in all his life of eighty some years. And Elisha, with a double portion done eight, and we've seen thousands times thousands with our own eyes! Look at The Angel of the Lord in a Pillar of Fire. Scientific search taken it to the world, knowing that their going to be judged by it.
What did that Lamb do? That Angel of the Lord, which was Christ. You believe it (The Third Exodus - 63-0630.1M.)
When the Gospel of Jesus Christ can be preached and proved and the God of Heaven in the form of His Pillar of Fire wave over the people and show that Jesus Christ is in the last session of His coming, giving them the last sign, and laugh at It and make fun of It, and call themselves church members, and then say they're not neurotics? Now, if you notice, the Holy Spirit fell on the Eastern people first. Then we've had a time of just church-joining and little ends to be picked up, and little causes to be fought for. But then in the evening time, on the Western hemisphere, it shall be Light. And we're at that time now! (The Evening Messenger - 63-0116.)
What was it? God getting Sarah and Abraham ready to receive the promised son. Showing that the next thing after the manifestation of this Angel of God, the Holy Spirit showing His last sign, the next thing, this mortal takes on immortality and we're caught up in the air to meet the promised Son, Abraham's royal Seed (Jehovah Jireh #II - 62-0706.)
Now, you say, "Was that God?" Abraham said it was ... He called Him Elohim. Now, in Genesis 1 you find out, "In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth." In Genesis 18 we find out that Abraham called this Person that set there and talked to him, and could tell him the secrets of his heart, tell him what Sarah was thinking behind Him, Abraham said, "It is Elohim." God came down in a Pillar of Fire and vindicated Himself, showed His Word. By scientific proof, by the witness of the Spirit, by the works of the Spirit, we see it today, the great Pillar of Fire moving among us. And the signs and wonders of the resurrection of Jesus Christ calling the people from denominationalism into the presence of Jesus Christ to live—going to a land. He's here. That same Holy Ghost, that One was on the Messiah, still on His Church. He never leaves. "I'll be with you always, even in you, to the end of the world. I'll be there (Deceived Church by the World - 59-0628.1M.)
And this that comes among us as a Pillar of Fire, as something that changes our hearts, that is the same God that said, "Let there be light," and there was light! He's the same yesterday, today, and forever (Who Is This Melchisedec - 65-0221.2E.)
We ask you, maybe if you can, to get the message on The Third Exodus, the third time that the Light, the Angel of the Lord, that has called the people to an exodus, has visibly showed Itself on earth in an exodus. See? (The Indictment - 63-0707.)
That same Pillar of Fire is here with us. Are you aware of it? I recognize the divine Presence of the Being of Christ, Who is the Word (Future Home - 64-0802.)
And, by the way, has anybody ever heard them tapes on the Church Ages? On the last time I had those Ages drawed out there on the blackboard, and the Heavenly Father knows this is true, when I completed it with the best I could, under the inspiration that God would give me, that Angel of the Lord that you see in the picture (many have seen that picture, haven't you, that Light?), It came right down in the room, before about three hundred or four hundred people, went right over on the side of the wall (as a Light like that) and drawed those Church Ages by Itself (The Evening Messenger - 63-0116.)
Everyone sitting there, screaming and everything else, I said, "There! Now, you've wanted to see It, everybody can look right at It." Eleven o'clock in the day, standing right there on the wall, and drawed off those Church Ages,just which much Spirit, and then the darkness to show that the Spirit was smothered out and went through the Dark Age and come right back down again, just the way I had it drawed (The Evening Messenger - 63-0116.)
Now look at the promise of the last days. And here we see it vindicated right before us—the present coming of the Holy Spirit and the works that He was supposed to do, and we find it right among us. (Fourth Seal - 63-0321.)
At the sounding of the Seventh Church Age, the last Church Age, all the loose ends that through these Church Ages have been probed at, will be wound up together. And when the Seals are broke and the mystery is revealed, down comes the Angel, the Messenger, Christ, setting His foot upon the land and upon the sea with a rainbow over His head. Now remember, this Seventh Angel is on earth at the time of this coming.
Just as John was giving his Message, the same time that Messiah come in the days ... John knew he would see Him, because he was going to introduce Him. And we realize that in the Scriptures over in Malachi 4, there's to be a one like John, an Elijah, to whom the Word of God can come to, and he is to reveal, by the Holy Spirit, all the mysteries of God and restore the faith of the children back to the faith of the apostolic fathers—restore back all these mysteries that's been probed at through these denominational years (ie. That was a burning Fire, that Pillar of Fire in the bush. When He died and rose on the third day, and Saul met Him on the road down, He was back to that Pillar of Fire. Said, "I come from God and I go to God." When Peter was in prison, that Pillar of Fire come in and opened the doors and took him on the outside, that's right.
Where did that Pillar of Fire lead them? Now, remember, Moses was not the Pillar of Fire. He was the anointed leader under that Pillar of Fire, and the Pillar of Fire only vindicated his Message with signs and wonders. And that Pillar of Fire led them to the land that God promised them, where He, Himself, would be made flesh among them some day.
But, this time—Glory to God!—the Pillar that we see among us, the Pillar of Fire will lead us to the Millennium, where He will return to His people in that great Millennium reign after this exodus, where we'll live eternally with Him (The Third Exodus - 63-0630.1M.)
Look, one night Peter was in prison. They had a prayer meeting down at John Mark's house, see. And so the Angel of the Lord come in, that Pillar Fire, a Light come down, and Peter thought he was dreaming when he seen this Light come to him. It... The Bible said, "It was a Light." See? And I believe It's the same One with us, see, He come down. And we get in the same trouble, maybe the same thing would happen. See? (Questions & Answers - 61-0112.)
That great Angel of the Covenant, that One Who was with Moses in the wilderness, that One Who come to Paul on the road to Damascus, that same One permitted His picture to be taken with us; the same One that was in the picture in the Life magazine the other day, the same Word by the same God, through the same channels, by the same way, by the same promise. "Wherever two or three are gathered in My Name, I am there in their midst." Then He's here. "The Angels of God are encamped about those who fear Him," that hangs only to His Word. No man can respect that Word without fearing God.
Then here He is in here this morning with us as we worship Him in the Spirit. Oh, since a hard Message like this, I think we just ought to worship Him a little bit in the Spirit. See? Just close your eyes and let's sing that to Him again, "I love Him, I love Him." (Christ Is the Mystery - 63-0728.)
That Angel of God Who came to Sodom, He come and He is promised. Remember, that same Angel came. Anyone knows that that was God. It wasn't that body, because the body was dust (Discerning The Body of the Lord - 59-0812.)
Then after you recognize the very Word of God was Eagle Food, then you left the other thing. You've then been formed into the living image of the Living God. You heard from your theophany. "If this earthly body be dissolved, we have one waiting." (Who Is This Melchisedec - 65-0221.2E.)
For he said, "Why did you call me out of my rest, seeing you become a enemy to God?" Watch him prophesy. "Tomorrow night by this time you'll be with me." He was still a prophet, though he was gone from this body. See, he become here and was part of that Word, and he entered from the flesh life back into the body that had been prepared for him before the foundation of the world. He entered into the theophany which was the Word. You get it? That's where all believers go when we turn from here.
Now, the true revelation of Melchisedec comes into view was—that He was God, the Word, before He became flesh, God the Word. Cause He had to be; no one else could be immortal like Him. See, I had father and mother; you did too. Jesus had father and mother. But this Man had no father or had no mother. Jesus had a time He started; this Man didn't. Jesus gave His life; this Man couldn't, because He was Life. And it's the self same Man all the time. I hope God reveals it to you. So he went back, said, "No, it's Peter at the door." "Oh," they said, "they've cut his head off already, that's his angel at the door. See, his Heavenly tabernacle, he had done received it, that this earthly one was dissolved, because it was waiting in Heaven for him to come to." (Conduct, Order, and Doctrine - 61-0212.)
That's exactly why Christ and God had to be the very same Person, it could not be anything different. If He had been a good man or a prophet, He wouldn't have been a Redeemer; He had to be the Creator Himself. But He's still a theophany now, you see, and the way He was then (Questions & Answers on Hebrews - 57-1006.)
And I set down on this little stool. And I just sitting, oh, kind of in this position, just like that. And, all at once, I seen a Light flicker in the room. And I thought somebody was come up with a flashlight. And I looked around, and I thought, "Well..." And here It was, right out in front of me. And old wooden boards on the floor. And there It was, right in front of me. And a little old drum stove sitting in the corner, the top was tore out of it. And right in here there was a Light on the floor, and I thought, "Well, where's that? Well, that couldn't be coming"
I looked around. And here It was above me, this very same Light, right there above me, hanging right like that. Circling around like a fire, kind of an emerald color, going, "Whoossh, whoossh, whoossh!" like that, just above It, like that. And I looked at That, and I thought, "What is That?" Now, It scared me.
And I heard somebody coming, [Brother Branham imitates someone walking - Ed.] just walking, only, it was bare-footed. And I seen the foot of a Man come in. Dark in the room, all but right here where It was shining right down. And I seen the foot of a Man coming in. And when He come into the room, walked on up, He was a Man about... looked to weigh about two hundred pounds. He had His hands folded like this. Now, I had seen It in a Whirl-wind, I had heard It talk to me, and seen It in the form of a Light, but the first time I ever seen the image of It. It walked up to me, real close (How the Angel Came to Me - 55-0117.)
And the Angel stepped into the Light again that begin to come around and around, and around and around, and around His feet like that, went up into the Light and went out of the building. I went home a new person. (How the Angel Came to Me - 55-0117.)
Let this great Angel of the Covenant, Jesus Christ, in the form of God, thought it not robbery to become equal with God. Now, He's a Pillar of Fire in the same form that He was back there bringing that first exodus, bringing the second exodus, and here He is with the third exodus.
The first exodus, what did He do? He brought them out of a natural land to a natural land. The second exodus, He brought them out from a spiritual condition into a spiritual Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Now He is bringing them from a spiritual Baptism of the Holy Ghost, right back into the Eternal Land of the Millennium and the great hereafter. Same Pillar of Fire by the same anointed system, the same God doing the same things. (The Third Exodus - 63-0630.1M.)
You've had speaking in tongues, dancing in the Spirit. You've had all these sensations, and you have seen miracles of healing, and wheel chairs, and so forth. We've seen all of that. But here, here's the last sign done come up now. Abraham seen all kinds of things God did for him along the way, sure, but here comes the last sign, just before the promised son come. And now the royal Seed is looking for a promised Son. Hallelujah! Are we, are we looking for a promised Son? The Son of God to return! Hallelujah! Oh, that makes me feel like shouting. Look! The royal Seed is looking for a promised Son. As Abraham did down through the years, watching, holding onto that Word, so has the royal Seed. And the Seed watching for this coming Son, the coming of the Lord, through one watch, two watch, three watch, on to the seventh watch, and here we are still looking for the royal Seed. And what do we see just before the Coming of the Lord? What takes place? God comes down in our midst, showing the royal Seed like He did Abraham's seed; and Abraham, and Abraham's seed, and here It is with the royal Seed. God dwelling among us in the form of the Holy Spirit, doing the same things He did back there, performing, showing it's the same. (Jehovah Jireh #II - 62-0706.)
And what is it when you're way out there in redemption, with a brand new body, you've turned back to a young man altogether again, or a young woman, you're never going to die no more. And you look down on earth, and think, "I could enjoy some grapes and some good cold water, but, you know, I don't need it here." But someday Jesus is coming, and this angelic body, this theophany that I'm living in, will not come through the womb of a woman anymore, it'll not come through sexual desire anymore; but because that He was born without sexual desire, I'll be resurrected without it, and He will speak someday and the dead in Christ shall rise, and that body that I once lived in will resurrect into a glorified body, and I'll walk and I'll talk, and I'll live and I'll enjoy life (hallelujah) throughout the glorious ages that is to come through Jesus Christ our Lord. He said, "Before Abraham was, I AM." Who was the I AM? The Pillar of Fire in the burning bush, a perpetual memorial through every generation; not only that generation, but this generation (the same Pillar of Fire). And we're thankful this morning, that we even have the picture of It, that He has not changed. He's the Immortal, Eternal, Blessed One! He does the same things now that He did then, and how happy it makes us feel.
But before Paul would accept this experience ... Knowing that the Angel of the Lord was the Pillar of Fire, which was Christ, the... Well, He was the Angel of the Covenant, which was Christ. Moses chose rather to suffer the afflictions with the people of Christ, and to be led by Christ, than all the treasures of Egypt. He followed Christ, which was in a form of the Pillar of Fire.
Then Christ said, "I came from God," (when He was here on earth) "I go back to God." After His death, burial, resurrection, glorified body setting at the right hand of the Majesty to make intercession, Paul saw Him as the Pillar of Fire again. A Light that put his eyes out, almost. Smote him blind.
Peter saw Him come into the jail as a Light, and open the doors before him as he went out, We find out that He was the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.
And here He is with us, today, doing the very same things that He did then, making Hisself visible back to us, showing it to the scientific world. (Hebrews Ch 5&6 #I - 57-0908.1M.)
But when it comes forth from the womb, God breathes the breath of life into it. And then he screams out. See, just as sure as there is a natural body being formed, there is a spiritual body to receive it as soon as it gets here.
Then when a man is borned again from Heaven, he becomes a spirit babe in Christ. And then when this robe of flesh is dropped, there is a natural body, theophany—a body not made with hands, neither born of a woman—that we go to. Then that body returns back and picks up the glorified body. That's the reason Jesus went to hell when he died and preached to the souls that were in prison. Turned back into that theophany.
II Corinthians 5:1 "If this earthly body be dissolved (this earthly tabernacle), we have another one." See, we have bypassed that to come straight from God, the attribute, to be flesh to be tempted and tested by sin like Adam did. But when testing of His Word is over, then we are taken up to this body that was prepared for us before the foundation of the world. It is the Word there that we skipped to come right around down here to be tempted and tested. If we'd have come through that, there'd have been no temptation; we'd knowed all things. That's the reason Jesus knowed all things, because He was Word before He was flesh. Then we become the Word. Here we are formed to the Word image to be a partaker of the Word, feed on the Word, by being predestinated since the beginning. (Who Is This Melchisedec - 65-0221.2E.)
His first being was Spirit, God, supernatural (all right?), the great Eternal. Second, He begin to form Himself towards flesh in a theophany, it's called, "the word, a body." This then is the state He was in when He met Abraham, was called Melchisedec. He was in the form of theophany. (Who Is This Melchisedec - 65-0221.2E.)
He was the Word. A theophany is something that you could not see. It could be right here now, yet you cannot see it. It's just like, well like television, that's in another dimension. Television... People are moving right through this room now singing; there's colors also, but the eye is only subject to the five senses. Your whole being is only subject to five senses, rather. And you are only subject to what the sight has been limited to see. But there is another dimension that can be seen by a transformation by television.
Now, television does not manufacture a picture. A television only channels it into a circuit, and then the television screen picks it up. But the picture's there to begin with. Television was here when Adam was here. Television was here when Elijah set on Mount Carmel. Television was here when Jesus of Nazareth walked the shores of Galilee. But you're just now discovering it. They wouldn't have believed it back there. You'd have been crazy to have said something like it. But now it's become a reality! And so is it that Christ is here! The Angels of God are here! And someday in the great Millennium to come it'll be just more real than television or anything else, because they are here! Now, here He is in the form of Spirit. And now, that was the Pillar of Fire that led the children of Israel, was the Lord Jesus Christ in Spirit form. Do you believe that? The Logos that went out of God. And then when He was on earth, He said, "I come from God and I go to God. (Marriage and Divorce - 65-0221.1M.)
Now, watch: He took not... the nature of angels;" (Now who's "He," he's talking about? Christ. Who's Christ? God! The Logos of God.)
And now the Logos that went out of God, which was the Logos, all this begin to form into a body-shape. And this body-shape was called, in the scholar's teaching, "Logos." The Logos that went out of God. In other words, a better word for it was a... what we call a theophany. Theophany is a human body that's glorified. Not exactly with flesh and bloodlike it will be in it's glorified stage, but it is of a form of a human body that doesn't eat, neither does it drink, but it's a body. A body that's waiting. God put a soul in a man and He didn't put it in the animal, because the soul that was in the man is that theophany. (Hebrews Ch 2 #III - 57-0828.)
Now, this Logos that was in Him, which was the Spirit of God, the Anointing, through the sanctifying grace of the Blood, brought many sons to God, which is anointed with this same Logos.
Now, on the day of Pentecost It come down, that Pillar of Fire, and broke apart like that, and tongues of fire set upon each of them, not their tongues, but tongues of fire set upon each of them, a elected, selected group, identified by this Pillar of Fire, showing that God had separated Himself into man. Do you get it? God, the Logos, separating Himself into man! God, not in one person, He's in His Church universal. That's the reason Jesus said, "The works that I do shall you also, more." Now, I know the King James says, "greater," but the right translation there is "more than this shall you do." God was bottled and confined in one Man, Jesus Christ. But now He's bottled and confined in the whole universal Church of the Living God.
Right now while God is here speaking with us in our hearts, He's in Africa, He's in Asia, He's in Europe, He's in England. Wherever believers are gathered together, there He is in the midst of them.
Now, after His death, burial, and ascension, and the coming of the Holy Ghost, Paul on his road down—which was Saul—to Damascus, he was struck down by a Pillar of Fire, the Logos. And that Jew would've never called that Pillar of Fire, "Lord," unless he knew It was the same Logos that his people followed through the wilderness. See? Now, that was not the Son of man, that was the Logos.
Now, we say this with reverence, and love, and respect. See? As Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever, and also that in the last days, as it was before Lot's time, or in Lot's time in Sodom, so shall it be in the day that the Son of man reveals Himself again, revealing Himself. Now, in this last day the Logos that was upon Jesus—which He has become from that back to the Pillar of Fire again and has descended down on the earth to (I was going to say something, but I watch the tape. They wouldn't believe that if you told them. It wouldn't make any difference. They... People wouldn't believe it, but I'll omit that)—but has come down for, like an investigating judgment goes on. To me it was the same Light that struck down St. Paul. Is the same Light that led the children of Israel, by night. Did you notice, here, this Angel, He was clothed in a cloud. See, He was a cloud by day. (Sirs, Is This the Time?—62-1230.2E.)
