Trump Pardons Convicted Drug Dealer while Starting War Against Venezuela to Fight 'Drug Dealers'
December 9, 2026 — If someone or some organization can win an award for hypocrisy, the Trump regime would win in a landslide. Recently, US President Donald Trump has pardoned Juan Orlando Hernandez, a former president of Honduras and a convicted drug trafficker known as the—Narco-Dictator who was convicted by a grand jury in New York City for importing 400 tons of cocaine and weapons into the United States. According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Mr. Hernandez was convicted for cocaine importation and related weapons offenses. Let that sink in for a minute, Hernandez helped import more than—400 tons—of cocaine and weapons into the United States, and Trump pardoned him, at the same time, a new war is on the table in Washington to remove Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro for allegedly sending drugs into the United States. This is hypocrisy on steroids. As President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Herna¡ndez abused his power to support one of the largest and most violent drug trafficking conspiracies in the world, and the people of Honduras and the United States bore the consequences, said Attorney General Merrick B. Garlans. Thanks to the diligent work of the Justice Department's agents and prosecutors, Herna¡ndez will now spend more than four decades in prison. The Justice Department will hold accountable all those who engage in violent drug trafficking, regardless of how powerful they are or what position they hold. The evidence against Hernandez was undeniable . . . However, Trump is fighting Narco-terrorists from Venezuela because he is concerned about the American people, right? When Trump first announced on September 2nd, that the US Navy hit an alleged drug boat in the Caribbean, he said that a kinetic strike against positively identified Tren de Aragua Narco-terrorists in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility and that the attack took place while the boat was at sea in International waters transporting illegal narcotics, heading to the United States. Trump bnoasted that the strike resulted in 11 terrorists killed in action he continueed, TDA is a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization, operating under the control of [Venezuelan President]. Nicolas Maduro, responsible for mass murder, drug trafficking, sex trafficking, and acts of violence and terror across the United States and Western Hemisphere.
The Department of Justice published a Press Release on June 6, 2024, titled, "Juan Orlando Hernandez, Former President of Honduras, sentenced to 45 Years in Prison for Conspiring to Distribute More Than 400 Tons of Cocaine and Related Firearms Offenses". The following statement explains in a nutshell what Hernandez was clearly involved in:
Fox News, one of the mainstream media outlets who is cheerleading for a war on Venezuela reported that Trump is prepared to order direct attacks on land inside Venezuela, warning that the Nicola¡s Maduro regime has already sent killers, murderers . . . gang members and other violent offenders into the US during past years of mass migration Trump continued, we're knocking out drug boats right now at a level that we haven't seen, and that Very seen we're going to start doing it on land too . . .
This war is about oil and other valuable resources, but it is also about making sure that the BRICS alliance does not influence Latin America to eventual ditch the US dollar. The US government with Trump and his Secretary of State, Marco Rubio are leading the charge and are hoping that they can get their dirty hands-on Venezuela and impose one of their puppets to become Venezuela's next president such as the Nobel Prize Winner Maria Corina Conchado. Conchado has openly called for the Trump regime to bomb her own country so that US corporations can once again, control the oil and other natural resources.
Trump's approval rating would sink further into the abyss, probably into the single digits if he goes to war against Venezuela. Expect Anti-War protests all over the world as the US government would be seen once again, as the belligerent actor on the world stage . . . Downward Spiral in China-Japan Relations
December 9, 2026 — Last month saw a dramatic downward spiral in Sino-Japanese relations after Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi threatened Tokyo's potential military involvement in the case of an armed conflict in China's breakaway island province of Taiwan. She unequivocally mentioned that this would "constitute a survival-threatening situation", becoming the first Japanese top official since WWII to link the US-orchestrated Taiwan crisis to a possible Japanese military involvement (which would be illegal even according to Tokyo's own law, including the constitution). Beijing's initial response came in the form of potential economic and diplomatic measures . . .
Japan had (and still has) a unique opportunity to build at least a working relationship with the Asian giant. Despite unrepentant Japanese atrocities from nearly 90 years ago, China has repeatedly expressed readiness to build mutually beneficial relations, particularly through economic cooperation. Unfortunately, Tokyo's response has ranged from disinterest to open hostility. This is deeply unwise, to say the least, as Beijing's growing arsenal of long-range precision-strike platforms, particularly the plethora of its hypersonic missiles that nobody (outside Russia) can possibly match, leaves Tokyo not only outclassed, but also almost entirely defenseless . . . Africa in Review 2025? Alliance of Sahel States (AES), Nigeria and the Struggle for Pan-Africanism
January 8, 2026 — During the first year of the second non-consecutive term of the administration of President Donald Trump has been marked by accusations and threats against the African continent.
Africa has been enslaved, underdeveloped, colonized and neo-colonized since the mid-15th century by several European countries resulting in the contemporary international division of labor and economic power. In the first administration of Trump, he referred to African states and other territories of the Global South as "S-hole" countries. His attacks on migrants and people of color communities were unrelenting.
Today the situation has worsened with the imposition of unjustifiable tariffs against foreign countries and travel bans into the United States. Although there were similar bans during the first administration of Trump, the list of states has expanded along with the suspension of humanitarian and development assistance to entire geo-political regions of the world.
In Trump's first address before the US Congress during the early months of 2025, he attacked the Southern African state of the Kingdom of Lesotho. It was also announced that Washington was again withdrawing from the World Health Organization (WHO) which provides assistance to underdeveloped states regarding medicines, funding for clinics and research on the proliferation of infectious and non-communicable diseases.
The South African Government of National Unity (GNU) headed by President Cyril Ramaphosa of the African National Congress (ANC) was accused of pursuing a program of genocide against the white population, principally the Afrikaners (Boers), who had dominated the majority African population since the late 17th century. In fact, it was the Boers which killed and contained millions of Africans under settler-colonialism and apartheid.
AES States Facing Destabilization
The former Commander of the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) General Michael Langley testified before the Congress early on in 2025 accusing the transitional leader of the West African state of Burkina Faso of utilizing resources from the marketing of gold to finance his administration. This statement prompted protests across West Africa and internationally.
There have been numerous attempts to overthrow the government Capt. Ibrahim Traore in Burkina Faso along with efforts to undermine the objectives of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) which consist of the three military governments of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso. In December of 2025, the AES formed a joint military force to more effectively address the security concerns of the region.
These states signed the Liptako-Gourma Charter in September 2023 aimed at facilitating trade between all three of the landlocked states. The AES has reached out to the Russian Federation for assistance related to security matters.
All of these states have been inflicted with purportedly Islamist rebels which have blockaded oil supplies into the capital city of Bamako in Mali. In Niger, the rebels are attempting to undermine the efforts aimed at restructuring the uranium industry, one of the largest deposits internationally. Burkina Faso, which also has an abundance of natural resources, has been providing ideological orientations based upon the legacy of the martyred Capt. Thomas Sankara from the mid-1980s.
The breaking of diplomatic relations with France and escalating tensions with the US has alarmed the imperialist states in Europe and their allies on the African continent. A delegation from the State Department traveled to Mali in 2025 ostensibly to discuss security issues with the government of military leader and interim President Col. Assimi Goita. However, the threat of greater instability remains a reality for the people of Mali in their attempts to chart an independent development course.
Although there have been several attempts to invite the AES governments back into the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the regional organization now compose of 12 countries, they have refused. These states were expelled and then voluntarily relinquished their membership after the Federal Republic of Nigeria during mid-2023 sought to intervene militarily to reinstall the civilian puppet leader of Niger, President Mohamed Bazoum.
The attempts to mobilize an ECOWAS force backed by Paris and Washington to invade Niger to overthrow the Committee to Safeguard the Homeland (CNSP) administration headed by Presidential Guard Commander Abdourahamane Tchiani, failed due to widespread opposition throughout the region including in Nigeria. However, destabilization attempts are ongoing while Niger and other AES members continue their struggle for Pan-African unity and anti-imperialism.
When a coup was announced in Benin by high-level military officers, it was the Nigerian military which intervened, bombing a military base and a television station in Cotonou. Western-backed President Patrice Talon was reimposed by the Nigerian army with the reported assistance of Ivory Coast and Ghana.
This scenario differed from the previous efforts during 2023. There were no public discussions and debates within Nigeria and other ECOWAS states over whether to take military action in Benin.
It appears that as long as the interests of imperialism are threatened Nigeria will intervene on behalf of the West and its allies. Yet, when the interests of the people are involved, the Tinubu administration has largely remained hostile or indifferent.
Nigeria Bombed by Trump with Consent
The Federal Republic of Nigeria is the most populous state on the African continent with some 237 million people. As one of the largest oil producers on the continent successive governments have failed to build genuine industrial and agricultural development inside the country.
Perhaps the most blatant act of capitulation to imperialism was the December 25 bombing of areas in the Northwest. Rather than denouncing the unwarranted bombing in Sokoto state, a convoluted response from the government of President Bola Tinubu indicated that they had undergone this humiliation with advance notice.
Claiming that they did not accept the premise that Nigerian Christians were being systematically persecuted, yet the government in Abuja says it will accept assistance in curbing "terrorism" in the north of the country. In an apparent reference to the violence carried out by Boko Haram, and the Islamic State of West Africa in the northeast of the country, the Tinubu administration claims synergy with US imperialism.
Nonetheless, Boko Haram and the Islamic State have been largely active in the Northeast and not the Northwest. Moreover, why have successive governments in Nigeria since 2009 failed to end the rebel violence in the northeast?
It is well documented that the jihadist rebel groupings in Africa have their origins in US intelligence dating back to Afghanistan in the late 1970s through the 1990s. These rebels are operating in the Sahel states to prevent a revolutionary transformation leading towards African unification against imperialism.
The regional issues in Nigeria stem directly from the legacy of enslavement and colonialism by Britain (no, by Jewry). These conflicts in the South and North of the country are not based upon religion. Since the advent of colonialism, Africa has been divided in order to maintain western imperialist domination.
Consequently, the Tinubu administration with such an outlook cannot serve the interests of the people of Nigeria and Africa as a whole. What is needed in the resource-rich African states are revolutionary parties and organizations which speak directly to the needs of the workers, farmers and youth.
Madagascar and the Role of the Military in Africa
In October demonstrations erupted in the Southern African Indian Ocean state of Madagascar in response to the burgeoning economic crisis. Prices for commodities and energy resources skyrocketed prompting unrest during the same period as the mass demonstrations in the Kingdom of Morocco.
Both the demonstrations in Morocco and Madagascar were attributed to the discontent of the so-called Gen Z youth. Ideological considerations related to Pan-Africanism, anti-imperialism, socialism and national sovereignty were absent from any analysis put forward by the corporate and capitalist government-controlled media outlets.
Another military coup occurred in Madagascar which removed President Andry Rajoelina amid the demonstrations in September and October. Rajoelina has rejected the military coup against his government while remaining in hiding from the public in Madagascar.
According to an article on the situation in Madagascar published by Al Jazeera, it says that:
"Madagascar's coup leader Colonel Michael Randrianirina, who seized power this month after Gen Z-driven protests forced the former president out of the country, has appointed a new prime minister. Randrianirina, who was sworn in as president last week, said on Monday that he had chosen businessman Herintsalama Rajaonarivelo as the new prime minister because of his experience and 'connections with the international organizations that work with us' Andry Rajoelina, the former president, whom lawmakers impeached for desertion of duty after he fled abroad last weekend, has condemned the army takeover and refused to step down while in exile. Rajoelina fled for his life amid the nationwide protests led by the 'Gen Z Madagascar' youth movement, which initially erupted in September over persistent water and power cuts and soon expanded into calls for a system overhaul."
Military seizures of power in Africa have been taking place since the 1950s. Some of the military coups have been anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist. However, many others have been engineered by imperialism and designed to foster the interests of the world capitalist system.
The situations involving these military seizures of power must be evaluated from an historical materialist and class perspective. Africa must overthrow neo-colonialism as a system of governance in order to empower the people in the struggle for Pan-Africanism and Socialism. Full story:

What became of America's 'Peace President'? Who's behind American Foreign Policy?
January 7, 2026 — Stephen Miller, (Jewish) President Trump's Jewish deputy chief of staff and architect of Trump's agenda, is the administration's voice on American foreign policy.
The Jewish voice that speaks for America has announced that it is the "formal position" of the United States government that Greenland belongs to the United States and that no country can prevent Washington from annexing the Danish territory. Miller's Jewish wife posted online a map of Greenland draped in the American flag. Trump agreed saying Washington "absolutely needs" Greenland. Asked to confirm Washington's intentions, Miller said that it has been the formal position since the beginning of the Trump administration that "obviously Greenland should be part of the United States," not withstanding the fact that Greenland has long been part of Denmark. Miller questioned Denmark's claim to Greenland and said that "nobody is going to fight the US military over the future of Greenland." In other words just as Israel can seize Palestine, Washington can seize Greenland, Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba, Iran and any other country that it wishes.
Stephen Miller claims that Washington needs to seize Greenland in order "to secure the Arctic."
By securing the Arctic Miller means preventing other countries from using the waterways and exploiting the resources. Not content with looting Venezuela, Washington has turned to looting NATO countries and the Arctic.
The lawlessness of the Israeli-dominated Trump regime could result in the isolation of the United States and the realignment of Western Europe with Russia. Stealing territory from Denmark is inconsistent with the NATO treaty that commits the United States to the defense of the integrity of Denmark. The blatant and unapologetic announcement that Washington intends to annex Greenland should make it clear to the Kremlin that there is no possibility of arriving at a peaceful settlement with Washington. If the Kremlin still believes otherwise, the Kremlin has transformed itself into an insane asylum. What could terminate the Ukrainian conflict is Europe's realization that NATO members themselves are to be looted by the Trump regime. Europeans will have to question why they are fighting America's war with Russia and seek instead a security agreement with Russia in order to protect themselves from being looted by the Trump regime.
It is extraordinary that in less than the first week of the new year Trump has put on notice Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Iran, and Denmark, while taking no meaningful steps to end Washington's conflict with Russia in Ukraine. As if this aggressive agenda is not enough, the Trump regime is provoking China with the sale of hundreds of missiles to Taiwan that can be used to attack Chinese cities . . . Trump's Vengeance: Dozens of Strikes in Syria as the Epstein Files Threaten
January 6, 2026 — In response to an ambush that left two Iowa National Guard troops and a civilian interpreter dead "in a very dangerous part of Syria" illegally occupied by the United States, Trump promised there would be "very serious retaliation" against the Islamic State.
On December 19, Trump followed up on his promise to "eliminate" ISIS in Syria (in 2019, during his first term, he claimed to have defeated "100 percent" of the ISIS caliphate in Syria). According to a US official, "a large-scale" strike hit 70 targets in areas across central Syria. The attack coincided with the release of another tranche of heavily redacted Epstein files. According to The Telegraph, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the United States "struck more than 70 targets at multiple locations across central Syria with fighter jets, attack helicopters and artillery . . . The Jordanian Armed Forces also supported with fighter aircraft."
"This is not the beginning of a war," declared Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, "it is a declaration of vengeance. The United States of America, under President Trump's leadership, will never hesitate and never relent to defend our people . . ." ISIS, al-Nusra, and al-Qaeda were "made-in-the-USA, an instrument of terror designed to divide and conquer the oil-rich Middle East and to counter Iran's growing influence in the region" . . . "The fact that the United States has a long and torrid history of backing terrorist groups will surprise only those who watch the news and ignore history."
In November, Susan Miller, a former CIA Tel Aviv station chief, admitted during an interview with journalist Afshin Rattansi, the US works with Mossad and Shin Bet in Israel. Miller also said al-Qaeda and the CIA shared a relationship in Iraq and Syria. The collaboration occurred under Timber Sycamore, a covert CIA program initiated in 2012. The program supplied weapons and training to Syrian opposition groups, including al-Nusra and others affiliated with al-Qaeda.
Sunni monarchs in the Gulf were outraged by a Russian approved "Islamic pipeline" routed through Iran. The Syrian and Russian proposal and outright rejection of the Qatari plan convinced the US, Israeli, and Saudi intelligence to overthrow the Assad government with an engineered domestic rebellion. Al-Qaeda in Iraq and the Islamic State were used for this purpose, writes Kit Klarenberg. In addition to Jahbat al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham, other Salafist jihadi groups were involved in the fighting, including Syrian Islamic Front, Saqour al-Sham, and others . . . In 2022, the United Nations Human Rights Office estimated that 306,887 civilians, approximately 1.5% of the total pre-war population, were killed between March 2011 and March 2021. 27,126 of the estimated killed were children. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, believed to be funded by the European Union, claims to have documented 614,000 persons killed since the beginning of the intelligence operation to overthrow the Syrian government in March, 2011 . . . Like Syria, Nigeria has endured numerous CIA operations over the years, most notably the 1976 coup that assassinated Murtala Mohammed and put Olusegun Obasanjo in power. Mohammed made the mistake of turning down a state visit by Secretary of State Henry Kissinger that same year . . .

President Donald Trump has thrown a Gauntlet to Russia and China
January 7, 2026 — Donald Trump threatened Delcy Rodriguez in a phone call with The Atlantic magazine, stating that she "could pay a very high price, much higher than what Maduro paid," if she "does not do what is necessary" and boldly resists the armed intervention of the USA in Venezuela, which led to Maduro's detention.
He also added that the USA urgently needs Greenland for its defense. In these statements of his, there was a hidden threat to kill the Venezuelan vice president and a threat of American occupation of Greenland. A day later, Donald Trump declared that in the short term, he needed Rodriguez to allow the USA full access to Venezuelan oil. "We need full access. We need access to the oil and other resources of their country that will allow us to rebuild their country," Trump said.
He therefore wanted to seize Venezuela's oil wealth. In his statement regarding the American attack on Venezuela, Viktor Orbán pointed out that with Venezuela's oil reserves, the USA would control 40 to 50% of the world's oil reserves and would be able to significantly influence its prices as well as the prices of natural gas on global markets. Venezuela possesses the largest known oil reserves in the world, estimated at 300 billion barrels. By occupying Venezuela, Donald Trump was completing his economic domination of the world.
The day after the attack on Venezuela, Donald Trump stated: "I believe that Cuba will be the subject of our next discussions, because Cuba is currently a country that is in crisis, a very serious crisis, and we want to help its people."
Trump also attacked the governments of Colombia and Mexico for criticizing his actions against Venezuela. He warned Colombian President Gustavo Petro during a press conference that he has 'cocaine factories' and that he should "watch his back" (implying that he could end up like Maduro). To Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, he conveyed in an interview with Fox News that she allows drug cartels to operate in her country and added that "Something needs to be done about Mexico". The United States thus threatened military intervention in three other countries and even Denmark, which is a member of the EU and NATO and they made it clear that they intended to continue their efforts to dominate the world. It was not wise to take Trump?s threats lightly, as he was undoubtedly aware that the American market is significantly smaller than the Chinese one and that the USA needs more territory and a larger population to compete with China in the future . . .
Trump's statements about Cuba clearly indicated to Russia that the USA intended to withdraw from the 1962 agreement in which Russia promised to halt the construction of its military base in Cuba in exchange for the USA not attacking Cuba.
This, along with the attack on Russia-aligned Venezuela, was a clear challenge to Russia to begin to back up to the USA in international politics in exchange for the USA allowing it to regain at least part of Ukraine.
This American offer caused Russia to begin stepping away from its alliance with China.
Xi Jinping sent New Year wishes to Vladimir Putin and in his message expressed hope for achieving further successes, reminding him of the powerful signal they sent together to the world in the past year. He meant the alliance of Russia, China, and India, which was expressed at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. Xi Jinping was aware that Trump is currently trying to win Putin over to his side against China. The question, however, was what he wants to offer Putin to help him achieve his goals in the war with Ukraine. Specifically, to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO and to ensure that the parts of Ukraine that did not seek EU membership in 2013, but instead aimed to join the Russian Customs Union, become part of Russia.
On Monday, 20 tankers laden with oil set sail from the Venezuelan shores, with China as their destination.
Stopping these shipments was undoubtedly one of Trump's objectives during the attack on Venezuela, which, like Cuba, was an ally of Russia and China.
The confrontation between the USA and Russia and China is, due to the US attack on Venezuela intensifying, and the danger is growing that China will become involved in the war in Ukraine in a more significant way than before, ultimately opening way to an open war between the East and the West that could easily escalate into a nuclear conflict; but to be afraid of war means as well that the world is ready to accept the US domination and this would not be good for anyone except for American politicians, corporations and citizens.

A World between War and Restraint
January 8, 2026 — The criminal kidnapping of compañero President Nicolás Maduro Moros and compañera First Combatant Cilia Flores occurred on the anniversary of the assassination on Donald Trump's orders of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in 2020. With every crime they commit, the US government and its European accomplices prove they are not worth negotiating with or extending a hand of peace. The attack on Venezuela demonstrates in the most forceful way possible the evil and falsity of the US system of government. The fact that one or another political figure of the US ruling class is president of the country does nothing to change its odious fascist essence. All US governments promote criminal militarism as foreign policy while domestically prioritizing corporate wealth over the legitimate aspirations of their people. "Faced with a turbulent world where peace is threatened, China has acted as an anchor for stability. As the once-in-a-century transformations accelerate, international relations are being reshaped amid turbulence and the risks of conflict or confrontation between major countries are clearly on the rise. China, as a key major country and a permanent member of the UN Security Council, remains committed to upholding world peace."
In May of this year, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also highlighted the commitment of Russia, China and India to world peace and explained the fundamental problem of the new order of international relations, "If we are serious about ensuring stability in the system of international relations, we must realize that much depends on the West renouncing efforts to impose its destructive principles and illegitimate ideology so as to begin to abide in good faith by the principles established in the Charter of the United Nations."
While China and Russia affirm the importance of defending the UN and complying with international law, the collective West acts with increasingly desperate criminality to block the developing new world order. Against strategic allies of Russia and China, such as Venezuela and Iran, it resorts to full-fledged war. While the great powers of the majority world try and work out the best way to act in this new international context of extreme US aggression, the countries of the majority world have no alternative but to unite in defense of Peace. "As Brothers and Sisters of this Brave and Noble Our America and Caribbean, we join the Outcry of the entire World, and out of deep rejection we affirm that we will continue to strive for International Law and Sovereignty to prevail. Peace has been deeply wounded and as the Human Family, the Community of Nations, the Peoples of the World, we all urge that it be reinstated as an absolute reflection of the Dignity of the world's Peoples. We wholeheartedly accompany the call of Venezuela's Vice-President, Compañera Delcy Rodríguez, to defend Truth, Justice and Life, and demand the immediate release of President, Compañero Nicolás Maduro and Compañera Cilia Flores." Russia does not want another war in Europe and has warned NATO that their capital cities are nuclear targets with the United States punished first. Brother Branham said, "What would our Pentagon do, if Russia did such a thing, and say, "Now, surrender, or go to ashes." We'd have to surrender, only sensible thing to do would be surrender. They're up there: we can't bring them down. They've got their guns on us. Just about three or four of them bombs, and that settles the whole thing. Oh, she's all shook up, brother, sister. The nations that are such a tremendous nervous condition tonight, till they don't know what to do. The essential problem for the majority world is the enormous advantage enjoyed by the criminal collective West compared to the vast majority of the world's governments that comply with international law, sincerely promote peace and seek to resolve disagreements through dialogue. The consistent practice of Western criminal governments, for decades, has been to feign willingness to dialogue only so as to gain space, time and opportunity to commit yet another barbaric aggression. This way of operating has been clear since the end of the Cold War and the war in former Yugoslavia. Later, it was perfected via the fraud of the Minsk Agreements on Ukraine and again during the negotiations with Iran before the Zionist and US attack in June last year. Now, while President Maduro was relying on dialogue, the US has attacked Venezuela to kidnap him and his wife Cilia.
The aggression against Venezuela occurs in the broader context of global bad faith on the part of the US government and its allies in their offensive against the new international order. The assertion is false that the Donald Trump administration seeks peace in Ukraine and is splitting from Europe to focus its attention on Asia and Latin America. Now the CIA openly admits that it is supporting terrorist drone attacks against the civilian population and infrastructure in Russia. The US forces support the terrorist attacks in Ukraine with intelligence and satellite information for targeting. With the approval of their government, US companies continue to sell large quantities of armaments to European intermediary countries for the explicit purpose of their being delivered to Ukraine.
Poland's Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk recently announced that the US government is going to invest US$500 million for the development of infrastructure at US military bases in the country. It is part of a plan to modernize these military bases until 2035 with a counterpart investment from the government of Poland of US$250 million per year. So there is no intention on the US side to abandon its aggressive military posture in Europe against Russia nor the stationing of its nuclear weapons there. They are simply going to demand that the Europe's peoples pay the cost of the US military presence. In addition, the recent imposition in Ukraine of Nazi sympathizer Kyrylo Budanov as deputy to de facto President Volodymyr Zelensky portends a deepening of the dirty war against Russia since Mr. Budanov is a recognized CIA asset with a military career in the special forces.
There is no limit to the falsehood and duplicity of the US ruling class and its European vassals in their efforts to reverse the development of a multipolar world. They lie to their peoples and lie to their international counterparts in such a way that it is impossible to trust even the most solemn, formal treaties and agreements. In fact, for many years US governments have ensured the expiration of all agreements on nuclear armaments without the least effort to negotiate an extension. The so-called New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, the only remaining bilateral arms control agreement between Russia and the US authorities, expires on February 5th this year. Russia's president has stated that it will always respect the provisions of that treaty if its US counterpart does the same. There has been no response from President Trump's administration and it is unlikely there will be.
The US has withdrawn from nuclear arms limitation agreements because its armed forces and its industrial base, with or without its NATO allies, are no longer able to prevail in a conventional war against Russia or China nor probably against Iran. This reality means that by losing a direct conventional war against these powers, the US ruling elites and their allies, including Israel, will resort to nuclear war because they are so insane that they would rather destroy the whole world than ever accept losing their accustomed dominance and power. It is clear that Russia has not responded to the aggressive actions of the NATO countries, led by the US government, against its territory because doing so would very probably lead to an escalation spiral that will only end with an exchange of nuclear weapons.
Intertwined with this desire to avoid nuclear war is the imperative for Russia to respect the interests and opinions of other countries and maintain world peace, despite all enemy provocations and the great pressure of public opinion inside Russia itself. For the Russian government, the support of China and India and other countries such as Brazil and South Africa or the ASEAN countries and the Arab countries has been of great economic and diplomatic importance since the beginning of the extreme unilateral coercive measures applied by the collective West in 2014 and intensified in 2022. The US government and its allies have been ruthlessly opportunistic and cynical in taking advantage of this reality to carry out aggressions which, under other circumstances, Russia would have punished heavily.
The same applies in the case of China in relation to blatant Western support for the rebellious government of the Chinese province of Taiwan. China, India and Russia are countries which in contemporary history have promoted peace, avoided provocations and sought to resolve their disputes through negotiation with due recognition of international law. This is a point that the statements of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS+ group of countries always emphasize. Their position contrasts sharply with the collective West's invocation of its spurious formula of a "rules-based order" which is never defined for the simple reason that the rules are invented and changed from one moment to the next at the whim of the US ruling elites. The clearest example of their cynical, sadistic opportunism is their support for the Zionist genocide of the Palestinian people.
This reality is also clearly evident in the violation by Western pirate countries of the principle of free navigation to the detriment of ships with different cargoes, but mainly oil tankers, from Russia, China and Iran. In response to the attacks on commercial ships carrying Russian cargo, the Russian government has recommended that these ships should sail under the Russian flag and not those of third countries, which may give a measure of protection against arbitrary seizure by the coastguards of Western nations. At the beginning of December, President Vladimir Putin also warned that his country could respond to aggressions against Russian ships, ostensibly committed by Ukraine, with attacks on ships of countries that support Ukraine militarily.
Towards the end of December, China's coast guard began more intensively patrolling its territorial waters around Taiwan. It is reported that China in the course of this operation has confiscated a ship of a Taiwanese company which was carrying US Himars missiles to Taiwan. On December 25th, Iran seized a foreign oil tanker which it accused of transporting around 25,000 barrels of smuggled fuel. This action followed the seizure of another boat in similar circumstances last November. So, it remains to be seen how the response of Russia, China and Iran to the attacks and seizure attempts against commercial vessels carrying cargoes from their countries develops.
This issue is of especially high importance now in the Caribbean in the context of the US attempt to impose a maritime blockade against Venezuela. In fact, the offensive against Venezuela is just one of several theaters of aggression promoted by the collective West from the genocide of the Palestinian people and the aggression against Iran to the NATO war in Ukraine and the deliberate provocations against China. The US government has ordered its lackey governments in Japan, South Korea and the Philippines to increase their military spending and offensive posture so as to harass China. Against the desperate aggression of the fascist Western elites and their terrorist attacks, Russia, China and Iran have maintained an extraordinary restraint in their foreign policy.
